The Union finished last season at the door step of ultimate glory. An unfortunate COVID-19 outbreak right before the Conference Final robbed them of a real shot a title, and that fresh wound from the 2021 playoffs may very well be fueling the Union we see today: relentless, determined, avenging. Jim Curtin’s boys boast 39 points halfway through the season, and they’ve only lost two games out of 21 played. Carranza, Gazdag, and Uhre make a formidable trio up front, but the pulse of the team is carried by Bedoya, Martinez, and Flach, who have all slowly grown to tick at the same rhythm and give the Union their ability to overrun most teams in the East. More importantly, their back line, fiercely commanded by Glesnes, has only given up 15 goals all season. With goalkeeper Andre Blake also in fine form, netting one past the Union feels impossible. Philly might have barely missed out on the title last year, but could this just be their Rocky II season? This time it seems they’re ready to do...
