‘El equipo del pueblo’ knows no bounds. Whether it’s Peru or the US, Alianza Lima and their fans know how to put on a spectacle on and off the field. The Peruvian champions rolled into New Jersey to face off against NJ Alliance FC for a special friendly at Clifton Stadium, and the sea of blue and white fans turned the venue into the mythical Matute. With chants and flags waving proudly in the air, Passaic County could have well been the Peruvian capital. After going undefeated last year and taking the first-ever women’s league title in Peru, the Alianza Lima Women’s Team has continued to search for new challenges, and on their short tour to New Jersey, they delivered a 2-0 win against Alliance FC for all those who packed the stands.
