Half of the top ten finishers for the 2024 Heisman Trophy played in West Texas at some point - the winner Travis Hunter and his teammate Shedeur Sanders came through this season along with ASU’s Cam Skattebo. Finalist Dillon Gabriel played in Oklahoma’s last Lubbock trip in 2022, and of course Army’s record setter Bryson Daily grew up and starred in Abernathy as a high school player.
