Eli Kimble ’27 is the Dick Gallagher Buffalo News Player of the Year. The award was announced at Saturday’s Dick Gallagher Western New York High School Football Awards banquet presented by WNY Athletics. Kimble ran for 1,778 yards and scored 32 touchdowns to help lead Canisius to the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association championship and The Buffalo News Large School Poll title. Kimble is pictured with assistant coach Paul Woods after being awarded All-Western New York first team, the Roger Weiss Memorial Players Choice Award, and the Monsignor Martin final MVP. The hardware for The Buffalo News POY award was unavailable. WNY Athletics’ Francis Boeck presented Kimble with the Roger Weiss Award, which goes to the best player in WNY according to a vote by the players.
