#fastfeetfriday bringing you another important aspect of being able to sprint like a savage—PROJECTION. Projection is your ability to efficiently cover ground forward with each step. An athlete who projects effectively will have their hips cover distance forward while also being able to recover their swing leg in time to prepare for the next step. Athletes who project their bodjes too vertically, or even too far forward that they can’t recover their swing leg efficiently are not going to be as fast as someone who can project more horizontal and prepare their legs for the next step (they’re also putting themselves at higher risk for injury in the process). There are lots of ways to train projection.
