For the second time, members from Palisade High School made lunch at their local Pathways Family Shelter in Grand Junction. Members bought and prepared a meals for over 50 people, and also helped the staff prepare for lunch and clean the kitchen. The biggest challenge for members was knowing how to operate in the commercial kitchen, however, they learned where things were and what to do, which made them feel better prepared for next time. Overall, members felt a great sense of giving and empathy for the families. The residents were kind and thankful for the delicious nacho lunch. Palisade's lead officer, Leah Talbott, did a great job of preparing the menu and directing tasks.
