Oregon voters delivered an unsurprising result in the presidential election this year, favoring a Democrat, this time Vice President Kamala Harris, for the 10th consecutive time. However, the state’s reputation as a reliable Democratic stronghold belies the longstanding disagreement between substantial portions of the electorate on the direction of the state and nation. While Harris won 55% of the vote in Oregon, President-elect Donald Trump won 41%.
