However, the shortage of home care workers in New York is a growing concern due to the low wages that they receive. This has resulted in 1 out of 4 people who qualify for home care not being able to find the care they need, and 3 out of 4 struggling to retain the care they have. Fair pay for home care workers is a solution to this problem and will allow us to rapidly expand the workforce to meet the growing needs of our aging population and those with disabilities who want to remain in their communities.
