In early November, Bow Seat attended the North American Association for Environmental Education’s (NAAEE) Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. NAAEE promotes excellence in environmental education throughout North America and the world with over 20,000 members across 30 countries. Thousands of formal and nonformal educators, along with representatives from business, government, and other sectors of society, attended the week-long meeting.
At the conference, Bow Seat presented to a packed room about our mission and work. We also had a table in the exhibitor hall featuring art from the Contest and highlighting the work of our Fellows and Future Blue Youth Council. At our table, we also ran a (very popular) button-making activity using art from recycled Contest yearbooks. Attendees sported their buttons all conference long!
Educators and related organizations were excited by the prospect of using the creative arts to teach environmental education to their students in unique ways.
