A heroic moment at Porter Elementary! On Tuesday morning, Thomas, a 3rd grader* at Porter, was recognized by the Mesa Fire & Medical Department in front of his peers for his bravery. While in the lunchroom, Thomas noticed his classmate Isaiah choking on food. Without hesitation, Thomas sprang into action and performed abdominal thrusts, successfully clearing Isaiah’s airway. Thanks to Thomas’s quick thinking, Isaiah was able to breathe normally again. Thank you, Thomas, for your courage and for being a true hero!
