ππ DEAD INK ADVENT DAY 19 ππ
"Definitely a bit surreal, the day I exchanged books with Miriam Margoyles. I'd been a huge fan of her outrageousness for a long time, and I thought that she might enjoy the unhinged protagonist in A SCARAB WHERE THE HEART SHOULD BE πͺ²
The way [our meeting] came about was equally absurd. My partner met the comedian Alexi Sayles on a Kung Fu camp in Italy (as you do), who happened to be interviewing Miriam the following week, and invited us along. She was everything I'd hoped for, she even had an onion snack waiting for her in her dressing room.
The whole experience has confirmed my belief that youre only 5 handshakes away from the person you want to meet, although I have to say this is the only piece of evidence I've accumulated so far. I guess I'm ultimately an optimist. Hope that inspires some Christmas cheer!"
