1996. The year I started my record label dimmak 28 years ago. I was 19 at UCSB putting on shows at my apt #ThePicklePatch writing in this hc zine #Heartattack and was playing in a bunch of bands at the time. One of my best friends dansenagram told me he was recording for his new band #StickFigureCarousel and asked me if I’d help put this out. I teamed up with my friends Jon and Gabe Bowne of Bastille Records who already released one single already so they taught me what was needed to put out this single. The recording cost 200 bucks. So 100 from of each of us then we made 600 copies total on vinyl. First 300 on baby blue vinyl and black for the rest. We printed the covers and then hand folded and hand die cut the covers. I made an insert and started a series celebrating different people in each release. The first was to my father Rocky Aoki.
