Complementing their science lessons on body systems, Class 7 students participated in a half-day dissection event this week. Students worked at two stations — one dissecting frogs with science teachers and another assisting physicians with cow eyes and sheep plucks. This hands-on activity helped students connect with their studies, practice lab skills, and learn more about the medical field.
Thank you to the Dexter Southfield parent physicians who helped facilitate this “first” for our students: Konstantin Balonov, MD (Tufts Medical Center); Robert Helm, MD (Boston Medical Center); Rania Hito, MD (Boston University School of Medicine); Heather Jacene, MD (Brigham and Women’s Hospital); Gi Soo Lee, MD, EdM (Harvard Children’s Hospital); and Cindy Tung, MD, MPH (Boston Children’s Hospital).
