“It was so incredibly inspiring to be around the entire world at COP,” says UMass Lowell student Ellie Bancroft, a finance major who minors in climate change and sustainability. “I’ve never been in a space quite like that before, where everybody is collectively coming together.” University of Massachusetts Lowell’s (UML) delegation attended the 2024 COP29 conference in Baku, Azerbaijan where they discussed climate action strategies while negotiating the next steps toward mitigating climate change.
