During the AVCA Coaches of the Year award ceremony, presented by the United States Marine Corps, we had the pleasure of speaking with Dan Buehring, head coach of Stevens Institute of Technology’s men’s volleyball team, who was honored as the Division III Men’s Coach of the Year. In his fourth season at Stevens, Coach Buehring has led the Ducks to remarkable achievements, including a 33-1 record in 2024, a 30-match winning streak, and a berth in the NCAA Championship semifinals. Under his guidance, the team secured back-to-back national titles, with the 2023 championship marking the program’s second Division III championship. His tenure boasts a 108-12 record at Stevens, contributing to a career mark of 196-65, and includes three consecutive seasons with at least 30 wins. A three-time MAC Coach of the Year, Buehring earns AVCA Division III Coach of the Year honors for the first time, becoming the school’s inaugural national honoree.
