A serious Gingerbread House contest was one of the highlights of our second House Games Day of this academic year, with Loyola House earning the top spot with a delicious home that had “CHS” spelled out in the snow and had “1180” for a (gingerbread) house number.
All students are members of one of six houses named after prominent Jesuits — Arrupe, Campion, Gonzaga, Jogues, Loyola and Xavier — and the competition, brotherhood and camaraderie of the pioneering CHS House System carry through their four years.
The House System builds an additional infrastructure of smaller communities within our larger school community. It helps build stronger bonds and connections between students throughout all four grades as well as with the faculty. At CHS, the day starts in Mentor Group, which are organized by house and which include students of all four grades.
