In a sweaty whirlwind of grit and humour, the Shield Athletics team raised $1,000 for Movember—while nearly combusting on an assault bike. The challenge? Burn one calorie per dollar raised. The result? A hilarious saga of groans, grit, and some very questionable decisions. “We wanted to support a great cause and prove we’re as tough as we tell our athletes to be,” said Brandon Coccimiglio, Director of Player Development and Co-Founder, rocking a freshly waxed Movember moustache. Dr. Jon Morrow, Shield’s Co-Founder and team chiropractor, took a more scientific approach. “I calibrated my calorie burn rate based on optimal biomechanics,” Morrow explained between gasps for air. “Turns out, I’m just really out of shape.” Meanwhile, Amanda Clement, the event’s unofficial MVP, cheered everyone on all while maintaining perfect hair.
