Juliette Landgrave’s optimism is unwavering, even in the face of a triple-negative breast cancer diagnosis when she was only 38.
“Cancer turns your world upside down. It took time to process it,” Juliette said. “When I was first diagnosed, I was devastated, but then I turned my thoughts around. I thought to myself, I’m going to be the poster child for surviving triple-negative breast cancer.”
The avid traveler was initially treated at a local hospital, where she underwent chemotherapy. Next, she was advised to have surgery. While Juliette wanted to do a lumpectomy, her surgeon pressured her to get a mastectomy.
“You go through so many changes during cancer, and after I was done with treatment, I still wanted to feel like myself,” she said.
Juliette advocated for herself and decided to come to City of Hope Orange County. Here, she found renowned breast cancer specialists with unsurpassed expertise who listened and developed a personalized treatment plan.
Today, Juliette is cancer...
