As a coach I make sure that everyday I am always capable of completing whatever I ask my athletes to do. This means practicing stretches and dry-land movements to even learning new skills in the water. I train for my own competitions individually but as coaches how are we supposed to expect our athletes to complete something correctly if we cannot properly demonstrate? How can we push and motivate our athletes if we no longer remember what it feels like to be in their position, when was the last time you got in the pool and tried to swim one of the sets you wrote?? Do you remember the feeling of fatigue as your muscles gave out and you lost access to oxygen? If you want your athletes to hold a plank my question is can you hold it with them? As coaches we are to be role models, not just due to our previous successes but because we practice what we preach and we learn to understand our athletes a little bit better everyday. #swimcoach #swimming #dayinthelife #outfitoftheday #co...
