Emily Adams, school nurse at John M. Tutt Middle School, is one of our featured voices in our Thanksgiving memory campaign, shares her heartfelt story: "Our daughter Addison was born in 2008, at 24 weeks premature weighing 2 pounds 8 ounces. It was heartbreaking to have to leave her at the hospital and go home empty handed. She was too sick to come with us. She had to have surgery... but was able to come home after 180 days in the NICU. It is our family Thanksgiving tradition that the smallest person gets a turkey leg. It makes the perfect photo opportunity. She was so tiny compared to that turkey leg! Her aunt Kate held Addison on her hip and held the turkey out so Addison could pretend to enjoy the turkey leg. It's one of my favorite pictures! We were truly thankful for our many blessings that Thanksgiving to have her home with us and to share in traditions."
