At her core, Emily Price is a storyteller. She had built a career telling stories as a longtime broadcast journalist in Des Moines, chasing down hard-hitting interviews with top political officials at the state and federal level.
She was also one of the first reporters in the area to air a heart-wrenching interview with five women who each lost daughters to stillbirth. They had created a nonprofit, Healthy Birth Day, with a profound goal: to try to prevent that tragedy from happening to other families.
More than a decade later, Price said she's still being drawn into the story, but now as the chief executive officer of healthybirthdayinc. These days, she's not just recounting a family's loss. She's also sharing many, many success stories, thanks to the organization's Count the Kicks campaign.
