Since the fall of the Assad regime, Rukban camp in southern Syria has experienced true freedom, no longer under the brutal siege imposed by Assad. For the first time in years, residents have better access to food and medicine. However, many still face extreme poverty, unable to afford adequate supplies. While Hadi’s story is one of hope and celebration, most residents remain in the camp—trapped by the high cost of travel or more commonly because their homes have been destroyed by war.
