"After learning about Wicked's volunteer day from the NYC Parks website, I got involved because I wanted to give back to my NYC community by helping create a greener environment. When I saw that it was partnered with Wicked, I became more excited because Wicked was my first performance to see on Broadway. Volunteering in greenspaces means the creation of a healthier and safer environment. Planting trees and removing invasive species help improve air quality in the surrounding area. It also helps with the beautification of the neighborhood. Beautiful and clean environments create a sense of peace of mind for all. I’ve also helped with composting, creating mulch, and planting produce. Because many neighborhoods in NYC are food deserts, planting food and making mulch, which all goes back to the community, was great way for me to help a cause I care deeply about." 💚💖 #ElphieAwards #YearOfTheFan #WICKED20
