In a viral ESPN TikTok posted last November, fourteen seconds was all it took for freshman student-athlete Chad Helwich to round the bases. Helwich’s impressive speed resulted in over 180 thousand likes. For comparison, it takes the average professional baseball player 16.7 seconds to run all four bases, making his feat truly remarkable.
Looking ahead to baseball season in the spring, Helwich reports, “I’ve been training all summer and now in the fall. So, I’m really excited to bring this speed to the baseball field this spring.”
