Invisible disabilities, like being deaf or hard of hearing, often go unnoticed—but the effort behind the scenes is anything but invisible. I always felt like a duck on a pond: appearing calm and collected on the surface, but paddling furiously beneath the water to keep up. Every conversation, every environment with too much noise or too little context, took so much more energy than anyone could imagine. This is why I share my journey—not just for me, but for anyone who feels like they’re paddling alone. You’re not. 💙 What’s one thing you wish others understood about invisible disabilities?
