christiana_fire This afternoon (01/01/2025) Christiana Fire Company and automatic aid companies were alerted to fire box 1221. New Castle County’s 911 Center received multiple calls for a fire involving the 1000 block of Woodchuck Place, Bear, Delaware (Fox Run Apartments). Engine 12, Ladder 12 and Battalion 6 (Chief Cowperthwait) arrived to find a three story multiple dwelling with a wind driven fire involving several apartment homes and the attic. Engine 12 secured a water supply and began fire suppression on the third floor while Ladder 12 initiated the primary searches. Battalion 6 established the “Christiana Command”, and eventually requested a second alarm assignment. Companies were ordered out of the structure momentarily, but were sent back inside shortly thereafter. Ladder 12 located and removed a semi conscious canine from a third floor apartment during their searches.
