When tourismireland invited me to partner up again—this time to showcase why Ireland and Northern Ireland are amazing year-round—I didn’t need any convincing. Last year, chelsea_ea and I rang in the New Year in Dublin, using it as our launch point for an unforgettable road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way and into Northern Ireland.
As we always do when traveling in the off-season, we went in with open minds and prepared for any wild weather the Emerald Isle would throw our way. And while we were treated to some wild weather, we were also surprised by amazing sunsets and sunrises, and, of course, so many rainbows to accompany the rain.
Not only that, but the many destinations we visited that are normally bustling people, were all but empty. We enjoyed a sunrise at the Giant’s Causeway to ourselves, and even had the opportunity to see the Dark Hedges sans bus loads of people. Plus, Ireland’s pubs make for the perfect place to cozy up with a pint (or two) of Guinness on rainy days.
