•Art was not made for this Capitalist society • This is something I honestly grapple with all the time as an artist who makes money with it. I love creating and giving my art to people, but it also can be this weird source of stress to just make what I think the masses would want. It’s so hard to price art because it isn’t meant to have a price. If I could I would give it all away for free, and ideally I will in the future. I am a firm believer that capitalism is a system meant to beat workers into the ground, and it was built upon the oppression of people of color, people who are not heteronormative, and other marginalized groups.
