“On the tenth day of Chuck Wagon, Cookie gave to me...  ten working cowboys,  nine po-ta-toessssss,  eight hard biscuits,  seven beef dinners,  six bellowing cows,  five bowls of beansssssss...  four rolling wheels,  three airtight cans,  two hot meals,  and a strong cup of cowboy coffee.”    Larger drives might have employed more, but a typical cattle drive had 10 cowboys:    One was the wrangler (he rode on the side and took care of the horses).    Two rode point (they rode on each side at the front of the herd).    Two rode swing (they rode behind the point cowboys a little ways back).    Two rode flank (they rode behind the swing cowboys a little ways back).    Three rode drag (they brought up the end of the herd and this was the dirtiest job of all).    Together the cowboys made a great team. They had to have faith in each other in order to get the job done.    You can see cowboys and cowgirls, rain or shine, at our Annual Chuck Wagon Festival on May 27 & 28! Grab your tickets tod...
