We’re throwing it back today all the way to 2016 when we won our second SLAATS Cup title against St. Norbert! 2016 marked the first time your Bulldogs won playoffs on home ice and began a string of six straight SLAATS Cup titles, the longest playoff title streak in the Women’s NCHA history.
The 2015-16 team also saw an impressive list of alumni who went into play professional hockey. Kaylyn Schroka, Kristin Lewicki and Sarah Shureb all signed in the then-NWHL with the Buffalo Beauts in the summer of 2017. Shureb and Schroka would spent a single season in the NWHL with Buffalo and Lewicki would spend four seasons in the NWHL (3 with Buffalo, 1 with New York and part of a season with the PWHPA).
Defenseman Sydney Smith would take her talents to Austria and the EWHL where she spent two seasons with the Neuburg Highlanders. Goaltender Brooke Gibson would also be chosen in the CWHL draft following her playing career.
Join us TOMORROW as we take on St. Norbert once again for the SLAATS...
