“I came to the U of A from a foreign city, filled with uncertainty. However, I quickly realized that, while I came here for education, university is about much more than that. Studying with classmates, participating in club events, playing intramural soccer, showcasing campus as an ambassador. Connecting with people from diverse cultures who study different disciplines ignited meaningful conversations and helped build friendship and multicultural communities. While our academic journeys will eventually come to an end; the stories, memories and people from the U of A I will hold onto forever. I hope to use my studies in urban planning to foster diverse communities and promote change in our cities.” Mikoto is a fourth-year Urban Planning and Economics student from Vancouver, BC, and this month’s featured #UAlberta Ambassador. He is excited to begin an internship with the City of Edmonton through the Arts Work Experience program this month!
