Today on Juneteenth, we celebrate the legends of the Negro Leagues by honoring the Palm Beach Hotel League and the Royal Poincianas, a league created by Henry Flagler in the 1920s. Flagler built baseball fields on the hotel grounds for his guests to experience the thrill of professional sports post World War I. The players, who would eventually become Negro League legends, were also workers at the hotels. Visit our story to learn more about the Hotel League!
