Continuing with our 2024 Recap, let’s take a look at our sustainable agriculture program in Burkina Faso: Planting Opportunity. 

 Last year, with a deeper focus on income generation, we empowered our 111 community farm members to increase their incomes by an incredible 44%! Thanks to the solar-powered irrigation system available on our community farm, farmers can harvest their crops year-round instead of relying on inconsistent rainy seasons. 

 That means 111 families (comprised of 766 people) are able to pay more school fees for children, afford more nutritious food, and invest further in their livelihoods, increasing their opportunity and potential to lift themselves out of poverty. It’s no surprise that now ALL of our available farm plots are occupied, and we have a waiting list of over 100 farmers seeking plots when we expand.
