Aaron Woodberry is growing up fast.
The junior guard is quickly becoming the go-to scorer Woodlands needed to defend its Section 1 Class B championship. He was a role player on last year’s team but logged hours on the court and in the weight room to get ready for the jump to headliner.
Woodberry got 24 points and five rebounds Friday, Jan. 3, keying a win over Peekskill.
“I just worked in the offseason,” Woodberry said of his improvement. I went into the gym every day and worked on my craft. I’m pretty comfortable now. I know what I need to do now to help us win.”
