Florida State freshman tight end Amaree Williams is considered as one of the more intriguing pieces on the Seminoles’ roster for the 2025 season. Williams was a former five-star prospect in the 2025 class, before he reclassified to the 2024 cycle. The Seminoles were recruiting him as a defensive end out of high school, but the coaching staff wanted to give him an opportunity to see the field as a true freshman so he was placed at tight end. Williams surprised individuals with his ability at the position where he recorded five receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns during the 2024 season. However, the coaching staff has stated during the offseason that the talented player will be placed at defensive end in 2025. This makes sense considering that the Seminoles are having to reconstruct its defensive line from a season ago and have to have other pieces in the rotation step up.
