Macy’s at Oak Court Set to Close in 2025
Macy’s Inc. has announced that its Oak Court location in Memphis will permanently close in the first quarter of 2025. This closure is part of the company’s “Bold New Chapter” strategy, which involves shutting down approximately 150 “underproductive stores” to focus on its 350 “go-forward” locations.
In a statement, Macy’s CEO Tony Spring said:
“Closing any store is never easy, but as part of our Bold New Chapter strategy, we are closing underproductive Macy’s stores to allow us to focus our resources and prioritize investments in our go–forward stores, where customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service.”
The Oak Court location is the only Macy’s store in Tennessee announced for closure so far.
This move reflects Macy’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and focus on stores performing well in key markets.
