Three types of cupping: Cupping is a modality that uses cups and negative pressure on the body over various muscle groups, triggering the bodies response system to relax muscle tension. There are a variety of cup types to use, however, during this demonstration video, plastic cups equipped with a vacuum hose and silicone cups were used. I. Gliding: use: breaking up adhesions/scar tissue, lifting the myofascia layer increasing blood flow. II. Static: using negative pressure to lift the myofascia layer/facial train, increasing blood flow, tension relief, and lymphatic flow. III Active: using the cups to lift and hold muscle tissue while adding active movement increases blood flow, range of motion to joint and fascial tissue.
