In 1989 I somehow got a hold of David Lynch’s phone number and called him asking for financial support to help make a small student film I was producing in LA with a British director and our UK film school crew. His generous donation and willingness to let me use his name opened doors that change my life and the future of my and the director’s lives. It brought us to Propaganda Films, where he had produced Twin Peaks, and where we set up our production offices for the better part of a year. It also became my home when I moved back to the States 4 years later working there full time as an on staff producer. Rarely are filmmakers so willing to be generous with new talent. They can feel threatened by the competition. But this man was singular. In his work, his style and his fierce love for the art. Thank you Sir.
