UnitedHealth Group has lost a staggering amount of money following the shocking assassination of one of the healthcare company's top executives, Brian Thompson. The health carrier company has lost an astounding $63 billion in value since the Thompson was gunned down outside Manhattan's Hilton Hotel on December 4 by Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate. Now, just over a month later, the healthcare giant has seen a significant drop in value as the price of shares in the group have dropped by roughly $100. Yet, despite the decreasing value and the grisly murder raising concerns over the US healthcare system, UnitedHealth has posted a 'better-than-expected' profit in the final quarter of 2024, The Independent reported.
