The sound of a meteorite striking Earth has been recorded for the FIRST time on a Ring doorbell camera in Canada. In July 2024, Laura Kelly and her partner Joe Velaidum had just returned from walking their dogs when they found a mysterious star-shaped mark outside their home. After reviewing the footage and sending a sample of the asteroid material to Dr Chris Herd, head curator of the meteorite collection at the University of Alberta, they were able to confirm it was a meteorite.
