Today we’re taking a look back to the 1930s. In this decade, the NC State College Band assisted in multiple two-day-long tours, visiting around fifty towns and cities with each, to promote the North Carolina State Fair. They started these booster tours with director Percy W. Price and continued them with Major C.D. Kutschinski who replaced Price as music director following his death in 1933.
We’re also looking ahead today, with our recently launched campaign to ensure future generations of students can continue to actively engage with NC State’s renowned music ensembles and student music organizations, either as student musicians or spectators, through concerts, sporting events, campus events, and more. Your gift will further enrich musical opportunities for all of our students so they can make their own music history at NC State.
