Exploring Gaudi’s Masterpieces Today I explored two of Barcelona’s most iconic spots: Park Güell and the Sagrada Familia 🦎 Park Güell was designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí. It was initially conceived as part of a housing development project by Eusebi Güell, a wealthy industrialist who commissioned Gaudí. The project began in 1900 but faced financial difficulties, and only two of the intended 60 houses were built. Gaudí’s designs were heavily inspired by natural forms, and the park features organic shapes, colorful mosaics, and intricate stonework. The park was completed in its current form in 1914, and after Güell’s death, it was eventually opened as a public park in 1926. Today, Park Güell is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks, attracting millions of visitors each year.
