TROJANS 38, JV-A KNIGHTS 35: The JV-A girls basketball team took a Taco Shack loss in a tightly contested game at Anderson on Dec. 31. Anderson’s Alibi Tehila scored 17 points to lead all scorers in the game. The Knights enjoyed a balanced attack with freshman Iris Head scoring nine points, junior Evelyn Jenkins, eight; and junior Amara Raab, seven. Raab said the game had a slow start but picked up after halftime. “At the beginning, we struggled to have momentum and get going,” Raab said. “Eventually in the third quarter, we turned it around and brought up the energy.” Anderson had a lead in the first half but the Knights caught up in the third and fourth quarters leaving only a three point gap between the two teams. “There were two steals towards the fourth quarter that brought the score as close as it was,” Raab said. “They were both like really high energy moments for our team.” With the games over the break the team got extra time to bond and work together on skills.
