Families and individuals in need can pick up a food box on Monday at a middle school in east Portland.
The annual food distribution event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, organized since 2021 by the Portland-based nonprofit Sunshine Division, will distribute 3,400 food boxes. It’s funded by a $95,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente.
Some 1,400 food boxes will be available to families and individuals to pick up from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., no questions asked, at Oliver Middle School at 15840 S.E. Taylor St. in Portland. Culturally specific food boxes – Black, Latinx and Halal – will also be available.
