Heading to Scottsdale is a beautiful 1954 Porsche 356 Pre-A 1500 Coupe, finished in an authentic Derby Red over a Rosanil Red leather interior. This desirable “Bent-window” Pre-A model is fitted with a rare sunroof and has undergone a stunning restoration by renowned Porsche specialist Jeff Huber. Notably, it is recorded as having been retained for “Porsche Factory Use” when new and is accompanied by a copy of its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Most interestingly, factory records suggest this 356 was utilized for testing and executive transportation, a privilege reserved for select vehicles. While the sunroof is absent from its factory documentation, its production timeline aligns with Porsche’s late-1954 introduction of the sunroof as an official feature, raising the possibility that this was a test car for the option.
