Be the change you want to see. On January 12, Nakissa Koomalsingh, also known as Keesa K ( @keesa.k ) joined us courtside at our doubleheader against the Brock Badgers. Keesa is the inspiring mind behind Canada’s first professional women’s basketball league, HOOPQUEENS. In 2024, she was recognized in Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list and Women of Influence + (WOI+) Top 25 Women of Influence in Canada. As a former varsity athlete, Keesa’s personal experience set in motion her passion to create a solution to the inequities in women’s sports. She is one of a kind in the Canadian Basketball scene and is highly respected for the tremendous impact she has made on the culture and lives of many young girls who love the game and hardworking female athletes.
