The rocket that will propel four astronauts to the Moon is coming together! ⁣ ⁣ Teams stacked a segment of the solid rocket boosters for the Artemis II mission. This is the fifth of 10 fueled segments, or motor segments, that teams with Exploration Ground Systems have stacked on top of Mobile Launcher 1 at NASAKennedy. Once the entire SLS (Space Launch System) rocket is stacked, a massive vehicle called the crawler will transport the completed rocket to the launchpad for testing, and then launch. ⁣ ⁣ Launch is targeted for early next year.⁣ ⁣ Image description: The segment of the SLS’ solid rocket boosters for the Artemis II mission is held up by the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) high bay crane in front of Mobile Launcher 1 during stacking. The iconic NASA “worm” logo is visible on the side of the rocket segment. In the background, railings line the many different floors inside of the VAB. ⁣ ⁣ Credit: NASA/Adeline Morgan ⁣ ⁣ #SLS #SpaceLaunchSystem #Mobile Launcher #Moon #Astronauts ...
