Today and every day, we celebrate and honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Being in Atlanta, our participating teams have the unique opportunity to learn about the legacy of Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement by touring Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Dr. King served as pastor. Here’s what Penn State Head Coach James Franklin had to say about his team’s experience:
“Being able to go into the Ebenezer Baptist Church and take that all in was powerful. To think about that time in our country, as a black man at 35 years old, to win the Nobel Peace Prize is amazing. I thought it was a great experience for our coaches. I think it was even more powerful for our players.”
