Today, the HPU family has honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by volunteering more than 2,000 hours of service through more than a dozen service projects on campus, around the city of High Point and beyond! At a glance, students, faculty and staff spent their “day on, not a day off” packing packets of vegetable seeds, taking part in beautification efforts at a local schools and community centers, as well as packing meals for Rise Against Hunger. HPU is donating $250,000 to Business High Point to support local minority entrepreneurs and develop the Washington Street Historic District in the city of High Point. Dr. Nido Qubein said today’s donation honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of creating a “beloved community” for all residents. 💜 #HPU365 #HPUTradition #MLKDay #CommunityService
