With their iconic “I Am A Man” signs, they marched for dignity, equality, and labor rights, changing the course of history. Mr. Parson stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the strike and lived to see their efforts honored. In 2011, he and his fellow sanitation workers were inducted into the Labor Hall of Fame—a testament to their unwavering resilience and determination.
